Ocean Jasper is a trade name for a variety of Rhyolite/Jasper found along the inter-tidal shores of northeast Madagascar, near the village of Marovato.
Ocean Jasper is prized by collectors and enthusiasts alike for its vibrant and colorful orbicular patterns. This hand-cut and polished semi-precious cabochon is made from the prized Madagascar Ocean Jasper.
The stone is a one-of-a-kind medium height piece of art that looks like a pastel painting with a band of white circular orbs across a light forest green, mustard yellow and pink red background. This specimen has several small colored crystal lined vugs.
The stone is cut in a skewed Navette or Marquise with both a lower and upper girdle to facilitate easy stone setting. The specimen is polished to a high vitreous luster.
This cabochon is ideal for a pendant, bracelet, ring and/or statement piece setting.
Photographed under full spectrum LEDs.
