Lepidolite is a rare lavender colored, lithium-rich mica mineral. When quartz is present, Lepidolite is used as a semi-precious gemstone. It may at times also be found in the colors of pink, light red or purple.This stone is a one-of-a-kind medium height piece with lavender plumes of Lepidolite and white Albite across a milky quartz field. The stone is cut in a wider skewed Navette or Marquise with both an upper and lower girdle to facilitate setting the stone. The cabochon is polished to a high vitreous luster.
In this specimen, the white is the mineral Albite, the lavender is Lepidolite the speckles are mica and the milky area is quartz.
The cabochon is ideal for a pendant and/or statement piece.
