Due to the vibrant red, orange, yellow, purple and even strikingly white, Arizona Rainbow Petrified Wood is often referred to "rainbow wood" or "pet wood".

A hand cut and polished semi-precious cabochon made from Arizona Rainbow Petrified Wood. This particular piece is cut parallel to the original trees rings. Pseudo-morphs of the original growth rings are visible within the stone traversing across the stone. The stone is cut in a Oval with both an upper and lower girdle to facilitate easy stone setting. The specimen is polished to a high vitreous luster.

The cabochon is ideal for a pendant, broach and ring.

The stone is polished to a high vitreous polish both front and back. The back is flat for setting.
